Hydraulic rollers, IMO, are perfect for an engine that never sees over 5500-5700 and that's what I use them for. They will go for 100,000 miles on factory vehicles (look at the Ford 5.0L for example).

It's easy to feel when you have zero clearance. Turn the adjuster 1/2-3/4 turn and lock down. Yes, it will open the valve but once it starts running it bleeds down. Any cam I have had up to .550 lift with 1.5 rockers I have always done cylinder one on the compression stroke then turn the engine 90 degrees then move to cylinder 8 and do the same procedure.
