Howard, I was a CHP officer in 1970 and was actively involved in firearms training as an Area Firearms Training Sergeant for most of my career, which ended in 1993. I was stationed 50 miles from where the Newhall Incident occurred, and my home town was only 29 miles away. After a furious four-minute shootout in which 145 total rounds were fired, the two bad guys were killed, but so were two agents, while the others were all wounded. 145 shots were fired in 4 to 5 minutes.
